Oh, Houston. What can we say about you other than you are a survivor and we want to ensure you have the best life possible. Houston arrived to WI rescue on June 3, xxxx. He is a 2(ish) year old boxer-terrier mix who spent the better part of his life fending for himself. The wonderful southern community that fed him, kept him as safe as they could, and finally captured him will forever be in our rescue hearts! As you can see, Houston's coat needs some rehabilitation, but we see enough to know he is a brindle. A few more weeks of TLC and he still start intensive heart worm treatment. Houston is dog friendly and cat friendly. He is a smaller boxer/terrier mix, probably due to poor nutrition as a puppy. He has absolutely NO food aggression despite having to fend for his food on the streets. We are waiting to see his full personality, but we can say he is gentle and sweet for sure! He takes some time to trust his humans, but at this point is very fond of his foster mom. He would do best with another young dog and a fenced in yard. He is submissive to other dogs and very friendly. Moments of playfulness with other dogs makes us happy to see! Please consider giving Houston a safe place to grow old and give love. Adoption fee: $400 Adoption fees for all dogs/puppies include a $50 refundable training deposit. Complete your basic training program and provide a copy of the certificate within 4 months (120 days) of adoption and we will refund $50 of the original adoption fee. All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. At this time it is necessary to send a request for an application. Upon receipt of the completed application, we will process the application including contact with your veterinarian and completion of a home visit. Please be sure to include the contact information for your vet as we will call. If your vet requires an information release, please be sure to contact them as soon as you submit your application.
